End Of Dayz
IG: @endofdayznw
Thanks for doing this boys, could you introduce yourselves to anyone who doesn’t already know you?
Thanks for having us. End of Dayz is Nate singing, Caleb on bass, Nick on drums, and Landon & Matt on guitars.
You guys released "Searching For A Way Out" last summer. That was one of my favorite releases of the year. The record release show was wild. How has the response been to the new songs live? What are your favorite tracks to play off of it?
Hell yeah, thank you! That show was a top 5 for us. Just a room full of friends going off for each others bands. The response has been pretty good, and we don’t have a collective favorite one to play, but Do or Die is a pretty fun one to play live.
JAG was a few weeks back. Your set kicked ass. You guys have a great set every year that you’ve played. This one seemed a little more special for whatever reason. How do you guys feel about the set? Any specific things or memories from it?
What more can you ask for? The NW showed up for 20 min of chaos and fun. There was a moment where Nate was calling everyone on the stage to get on the floor that really sticks out. Seeing many of our friends, local and far, going off at the same time was something we will never forget.
Brain Floss (shout out to Eddie) is putting out the split 7" with y’all and Land Lost. Both bands' songs rip. Have you guys been sitting on those new songs for a bit? You just put out the 12" or were the songs for the split written recently? Was there anything different about the writing process for these songs as compared to previous releases?
Yo shout out Eddie Brain Floss a second time! Putting NWHC records out there for the love of the game. Shout out our brothers in Land Lost as well. One more shout out to Tron for recording both bands for the split, check his studio out (@castletronstudiostacoma on IG).
As far as the writing process goes, the Split songs came together pretty quick. We had the idea to write two songs in the Fall, and as we were finishing writing Land Lost was recording their two songs, and we basically just decided “Let’s just run a split together” and everything kinda just fell into place.
You just played Ingrown's record release show. Boise seems to be a home away from home for you guys in the northwest. How was the set? How was the reaction to the new songs?
Boise is dope, shout out Ingrown, Witness Chamber, and The Flail out there. The set was fun, and we were honored to be invited to play for a special night like that.
You are also playing RBS fest in April. How is the reaction when you guys play in the Bay? You guys seem to be one of the bands that has really solidified between the bay and the northwest to something special over the last ten years or so. I remember some of your old bands as well as one of mine playing with Spinebreaker and some others up in Everett back in the day. I'm assuming that's where those relationships started?
We’ve played in San Jose (Shout out RBS) once in 2022 and it was dope! We’ve been lucky to always have been shown love by our friends down there.
Back in 2014 or 2015 Landon and Matt were on tour in an old band, and they played in San Jose at a place called the Rock Shop with bands that would eventually turn into the insane scene The Bay has now. Bands like Bad Times Crew, True Hearted, etc. That also might have been one of Spinebreaker first shows. All those guys showed us a lot of love at the show, and everything else is history. EOD will always have love for The Bay, and more specifically San Jose.
Northwest Hardcore Fest's lineup for this year just got announced and you guys are playing this year. You guys have played in years past. Any sets yall are looking forward to this year?
Yeah shout out Chip and everyone else involved with NWHC fest in PDX! The lineup is dope!
Hyped as always the play with our friends Apex Predator, Odd Man Out, Slime, Outta Pocket, and Extinguish.
Apart from the two fests, anything else in the works you have coming up? Any tours, plans, new music you want to talk about?
At the moment we don’t have much more solidified. We have a few things cooking at the moment so time will tell. Be on the lookout, who knows what we will get into this year.
There's a ton of new bands around now which kicks ass. You guys are the old heads now. Who are some young bands you're excited about?
SPURR, Total Power Exchange, Ritual Killing, Skelm, Cherub Chains, Shanked, Refuse2Lose, Ritual Killing, and Adipocere check them all out.
Thanks again for doing this boys and always putting on for Seattle, Tacoma and the Northwest in general. Is there anything you guys want to leave people with?
NWHC from Vancouver BC, Boise, Portland, Seattle, and Tacoma forever.
Start a band, book a show, go on tour, and never stop moshing.
Thanks for having us!!
